Development of Mechatronics Systems
for Education Purposes

The first year students of the Department of Modern Mechanical Engineering from Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Waseda University, attend to the Mechatronics - LAB(2) experimental course. In particular, they course content has been designed to cover the basic required knowledge from the microcontroller programming up to the principles of control engineering. For this course, the students are required to perform different kinds of basic/task experiments using the RoboDesigner Kit*. The main objective of this course is to introduce to the first year students the principles of the Mechatronics field. At the end of the course, students are required to construct a Line-Follow Robot as a part of a robot contest held at the end of the course.

Keywords:

① PBL( Project-based Learning)
Basic experiments related to: construction of PCB, microcontroller programming, implementation of control methods, introduction to PID Control, etc. Task experiments related to the construction of a robot system

② TBL( Team-Based Learning)
