In WB-3 system, connection and electric supply between IMU and Computer is done by wired network. But, in WB-4 system, they are done by wireless network by using Bluetooth module and lithium battery. The size of WB-4 mother board is 37x23x12[mm] and the weight is 7[g]. So, this IMU is very small and light weight(for comparison, a commercial system with the same characteristics would be bigger). And WB-4 can be attached to human easily with less physical restriction.
The IMU is composed of the following sensors: 3-axis accelerometer sensor LIS331DLH; 3-axis gyroscope LYPR540AH; 3-axis magnetometer HMC5843. IMU's characteristics are summarized in Table 1. The IMU contains also a 32 bit microcontroller STM32 Cortex (STMicroelectronics) for embedded signal elaboration. The data measured by the IMU, is sent to computer by Bluetooth module.
